On Faith and Finance: In God We Trust by Angie Mabry-Nauta, guest writer for Christianity Today’s Her.menutics caught my eye, for a couple of reasons.
1. The picture, because it reminded me of the dollar I have in the front of my journal with the words IN GOD WE TRUST circled on it.
2. I just graduated from seminary and like many people, have a lot of debt to repay (which is why I have that dollar in the front of my journal with IN GOD WE TRUST circled).
I put the dollar in my journal to remind myself that I shouldn’t focus on money in an unhealthy way. That it all belongs to God and I need to be smart with what I have, but above all to trust God for what I need.
I think the following gives good perspective….
Money isn’t ‘ours’ in the sense that we’re somehow entitled to it,” the pastor said. “It is a gift of God, the Giver of all good things. And God gives money to us to steward it well, not to worship it or to think so little of it that we’re frivolous.
